Шаблон:Short description Шаблон:Infobox military conflict Шаблон:Campaignbox Mughal-Sikh Wars The Battle of Hoshiarpur was one of several battles fought in the Mughal-Sikh wars. Isa Khan Manj, a Mughal zamindar of the Lakhi Jungle in Punjab, attacked the Sikhs at Hoshiarpur. After his victory, he was awarded with the faujdari of the Jalandhar Doaba.

Battle

When the Sikh general, Banda Singh Bahadur had previously captured the eastern parts of Punjab in 1710, the Lakhi Jungle between Firozpur and Bhatner held by Isa Khan Munj, was the only region not taken.[1] In June 1711, Isa Khan Manj attacked the Sikhs at Hoshiarpur in the Jalandhar Doaba where it was reported to the Emperor that he had inflicted a severe defeat on the Sikhs.[2] Due to the fact that Isa Khan Manj was a protégé of Jahandar Shah, the prince received robes of honour, while half of the Zamindari of the Doaba region of Punjab was bestowed upon the Mian Rajput tribesmen. The Faujdarship of the Jalandhar Doaba was bestowed upon Isa Khan Manj.[3][4]
