Шаблон:Short description Шаблон:Refimprove Шаблон:Infobox person Benoist Troost (also Benoît Troost, Benoit Troost; November 17, 1776 – February 8, 1859) was born in Holland and served as a hospital surgeon in the army of Napoleon. He moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, St. Louis, Missouri, Independence, Missouri in 1844, and became a settler of the Town of Kansas Шаблон:Circa. He was listed as a trustee when the Town of Kansas incorporated in 1850, then again when the Missouri General Assembly reincorporated the town as the City of Kansas City, Missouri.[1][2] He was the city's first resident physician, ran for mayor in 1854, served on the city council in 1854, founded the Kansas City Enterprise newspaper in 1854, and incorporated the city's first Chamber of Commerce in 1857.[3][4]
