Bitho Sharif Dargah is a Dargah (shrine) of Sufi Saint Makhdoom Syed Shah Durwesh Ashraf also known as Khanquah Durweshia Ashrafia Chishtia.[1][2][3] It is located in village Bitho Sharif of Gaya district in the Indian state of Bihar.[4][5]

History

The Sufi Saint Makhdoom Syed Shah Durwesh Ashraf came to Bitho and established a Khanquah in the village with a mosque and madrasa in year 1443.[6]

Events

Urs

The annually Urs is celebrated every year from 8th to 12th of Shaaban month of Hijri calendar commemorating the death anniversary of Makhdoom Syed Shah Durwesh Ashraf at the Dargah.[7][8] The Urs is attended by thousands of people from different parts of the country and abroad and many dignatories like political and public figures every years, The Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar also attends the Urs.[9]
