Blackfoot is a hamlet in east-central Alberta, Canada within the County of Vermilion River.[1] It is located Шаблон:Convert north of Highway 16, approximately Шаблон:Convert west of Lloydminster.

History

The first post office opened in 1905 as "Blackfoot Hills" and changed to just "Blackfoot" in 1909.[2] Telephone service was established in 1907.[3]

Demographics

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Blackfoot had a population of 386 living in 139 of its 150 total private dwellings, a change of Шаблон:Percentage from its 2016 population of 407. With a land area of Шаблон:Cvt, it had a population density of Шаблон:Pop density in 2021.[4]

As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Blackfoot had a population of 392 living in 146 of its 153 total private dwellings, a change of Шаблон:Percentage from its 2011 population of 269. With a land area of Шаблон:Convert, it had a population density of Шаблон:Pop density in 2016.[5]

The County of Vermilion River's 2015 municipal census counted a population of 420 in Blackfoot.[6]
