Bostryx is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Bulimulidae.[1][2]
Taxonomy
Previously this genus was placed within the Orthalicidae.[3]
Bostryx sensu stricto is the type genus of the subfamily Bostrycinae,[1] but some species of Bostryx sensu lato are placed within Bulimulinae.[1] There is need further research to elucidate which subgenera belong to which subfamily.[1]
Distribution
There are 29 species from the genus Bostryx in Chile[4] and numerous species in other countries.
Ecology
They live under stones and on cacti.[4]
