Chiayi Park (Шаблон:Zh) is a park at East District, Chiayi City, Taiwan.

History

Originally named "Chiayi Park," it was established in 1911 during the Meiji Period of Japanese colonial rule and underwent a transformation to "Zhongshan Park" during the KMT government era, only to be reinstated to its original name in 1997.

Over its expansive 268,000 square meters, Chiayi Park has grown from its hilltop origins to include bridges, roads, and a carefully designed landscape. The park's charm lies in its harmonious blend of tall old trees, waterside pavilions, and historic ruins like the Martyrs' Shrine, Chiayi Tower, and Alishan Forest Railway No. 21 Steam locomotive. Additionally, the park's northeastern corner houses the Forestry and Agricultural Research Institute.[1]

Architecture

The park spans over an area of 26.8 hectares.[1] The park features the Sun-Shooting Tower, Chiayi Confucian Temple and Kagi Shrine.
