DIDWW is a global telecommunications company specializing in Voice over IP (VoIP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking services.[1]

It was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland. Lina Zaboras serves as the CEO of the company.[2]

History

DIDWW was established in 2004 in Dublin, Ireland as a provider of global voice origination service.

DIDWW’s Shared Channel was named the 2009 Internet Telephony Product of the Year.[3]

In December 2019, the company started providing two-way SMS services in the USA and Canada.[4]

In 2020 DIDWW opened a telephony museum in Siauliai, Lithuania.[5] The company curated a collection of exhibits and other artifacts related to 200 years of the history of telephony in Lithuania and the world.[6][7]

In May 2021 DIDWW joined the international association GSMA.[8][9] In the summer of 2021, DIDWW partnered with PCCW Global to expand SIP trunking services to Europe and Asia.[10]

In April 2022 it was assigned with Mobile Country Code (MCC) and Mobile Network Code (MNC).[11][12] In May of the same year, DIDWW joined Communications Fraud Control Association CFCA.[13][14] In October it started offering Universal International Freephone Numbers (UIFN).[15] In December, DIDWW became licensed as a telecom operator in Slovenia, Croatia, and Spain. In June, it became ISO 27001 certified.[16]

At the beginning of 2023, the company expanded Toll-free virtual number coverage to Moldova, Malaysia and Kenya.[17] In September of the same year, the company expanded its number portability coverage to include a total of 39 countries, adding South Africa, Chile, and Estonia.[18][19] In October 2023 it established its new point of presence (PoP) in Amsterdam to expand its lineup of PoPs globally, which includes New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Singapore, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong.[18][20] In December of the same year, the company joined Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC).[21][22]

In January 2024 the company acquired national telecom operator licenses in Hong Kong, a total of 28 licenses and 13 number ranges.[20]

Operations

DIDWW specializes in providing international coverage of local, national, mobile, toll-free voice and SMS-enabled virtual phone numbers, two-way local and global SIP trunks, access to local emergency services, number portability, and number selection tools.[23] It provides access to international phone numbers in 80 countries.[24]

DIDWW license coverage includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. These licenses enable DIDWW to provide two-way Voice and SMS communications. DIDWW also holds its own number ranges in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

DIDWW has the official status of LIR (Local Internet Registry) and is a member of RIPE (European IP Networks), a non-profit association that ensures the administrative and technical coordination necessary to enable the operation of the Internet. DIDWW is also a part of the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), which is a specialized agency of the United Nations that focuses on information and communication technology issues.[8]
