Darkhoveyn (Шаблон:Lang-fa, also Romanized as Dārkhoveyn and Dārkhovīn; also known as Dār Khūyeh, Darkhwin, Dārxoweyn, Daurat al Qaiwain, Dorquain, and Kūt ol ‘Abīd)[1] is a city in, and the capital of, Darkhoveyn District of Shadegan County, Khuzestan province, Iran, and also serves as the administrative center for Darkhoveyn Rural District.[2] The city is the merger of the former villages of Darkhoveyn, Shakhtal Khan, and Yukhan.[3] Darkhoveyn is the site of a nuclear facility.

At the 2006 census, its population (as the total of its constituent villages before the merger) was 4,745 in 870 households, when it was in Darkhoveyn Rural District of the Central District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 5,759 people in 1,338 households,[5] by which time the villages had merged to form the new city of Darkhoveyn.[3] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,655 people in 1,458 households,[6] when it was transferred to the newly established Darkhoveyn District and became its capital.[2]
