Darwin's ringed worm lizard (Amphisbaena darwinii) is a species of amphisbaenian in the family Amphisbaenidae, endemic to South America.

Etymology

The specific name, darwinii, is in honor of English naturalist Charles Darwin.[1]

Geographic range

A. darwinii lives in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.[2]

Habitat

The preferred natural habitat of A. darwinii is grassland.[3]

Description

A. darwinii may attain a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of Шаблон:Convert.[4]

Behavior

A. darwinii is fossorial.[3]

Reproduction

A. darwinii is oviparous.[2]
