Musielak earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico in 1978,Шаблон:R the first woman to earn a degree in this field there.Шаблон:R She continued with a master's degree at the University of Tennessee in 1980, and a Ph.D. at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1994.Шаблон:R

Her other books include Kuxan Suum: Path to the Center of the Universe (2010) and Euler Celestial Analysis: Introduction to Spacecraft Orbit Mechanics (2018). These remain self-published, through AuthorHouse.
