History
Following the Russian Revolution, the Dusheti uezd was incorporated into the short-lived Democratic Republic of Georgia.Шаблон:Sfn

According to the Russian Empire Census, the Dusheti uezd had a population of 67,719 on Шаблон:OldStyleDate, including 35,848 men and 31,871 women. The majority of the population indicated Georgian to be their mother tongue, with a significant Ossetian speaking minority.[1]
