Ealhhelm is described by the historian Shashi Jayakumar as "an obscure figure who had been ealdorman in Mercia under Edmund". His sons were Ælfhere, Ealdorman of Mercia, Ælfheah, Ælfwine and Eadric. Ælfric Cild may have been his son-in-law.Шаблон:Sfn
