He competed for the Colombia national football team at the 1962 FIFA World Cup which was held in Chile. Among other teams, he played for San Lorenzo of Argentina in the 1940s. He won the Colombian league title three times during his career.

Career

Sánchez played for Mexican side Club Atlas in 1959.[1]

After retiring as a player Sánchez went into management, taking charge of the Colombia national team on three occasions.
