Elisa Giordano (born Шаблон:Date in Mirano) is an Italian rugby union player. She plays Number eight for Valsugana and, since 2022, she is the captain of the Italian national team.

Career

She played basketball and handball, She came to rugby at the age of 19,[1]  and entered the women's training at Valsugana in Padua, where she studied at university.

In November 2011 in Nice Giordano made her debut in the Italian national team against Шаблон:Ruw. In 2012 she took part in the FIRA European championship in Rovereto, finishing third behind England and France.

She graduated in occupational therapy,[2] and she was eligible for the national team at the 2013 Universiade, in the rugby sevens tournament in Kazan. Italy won the silver, after losing in the final 10-30 by Russia.[3]

She competed at the 2015 Women's Six Nations Championship, and 2016 Women's Six Nations Championship, with 4 victories in 10 matches. This qualified Italy for the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup.[4]

At club level she won 3 consecutive championships, from 2015 to 2017, with Valsugana, where she was captain.

In September 2022, she took over the captaincy of the Italian national team from Manuela Furlan at the 2021 Rugby World Cup.[5][6] She competed at the 2021 Women's Six Nations Championship,[7]

At the 2023 Women's Six Nations Championship, she started against France.[8][9]
