History
The company was founded in London by Andreas Hipp, the first CEO of Epsilon Telecommunications, in 2003. In 2003, Epsilon Telecommunications started by delivering four E1s from Telehouse East to Madrid, and in the mid-2000s, went on to launch optical Cross Connects in London. Epsilon Telecommunications became a global carrier for voice and data connectivity services, providing network connectivity, including cloud connect, cloud routing, remote peering, dedicated internet access, SD WAN, SASE, and managed services.[1][2]
In 2008, the company launched the first colocation facility in London,[1] and in 2009–2010 in Singapore. In 2017, Epsilon Telecommunications opened a facility in New York.[3][1]
In 2009, Epsilon Telecommunications relocated its headquarters to Singapore.[4] In September 2021, Epsilon Telecommunications was acquired by KT Corp, a South Korean telecommunications company and Daishin Private Equity.[5][6][7]
In 2015, Epsilon Telecommunications introduced software-defined networking, enabling voice or connectivity services to cloud service providers (CSP) and Internet Exchanges (IX) to be procured on demand. Branded as CloudLX, it was subsequently renamed Infiny in March 2017.[8][9]
In December 2020, Epsilon Telecommunications launched Cloud Networking, which allows customers to manage connectivity across multiple clouds, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud.[10]
In May 2021, Epsilon Telecommunications expanded its data services portfolio with the addition of the Aruba EdgeConnect SD WAN edge platform and included CATO's Edge SD-WAN and Cisco Meraki's SD-WAN into the connectivity offerings.[11][12][13]
In November 2022, Epsilon launched three points of presence (PoP) across South Korea. The PoPs are located in MokDong IDC 2, KINX Gasan IDC, and KT Hyehwa. These new PoPs provide its customers with direct connectivity to South Korea’s digital infrastructure and ecosystems spanning data centers, cloud providers, and Internet service providers.[14]
In March 2023, Epsilon Telecommunications partnered with KT Sat (wholly owned by KT Corp) to add satellite networking to its services.[15][16]
