Biography

al-Dwairi was born on 3 March 1952 in Kitim town, Banī 'Obeīd District in Irbid Governorate.[4] He studied at the Jordanian Military College from 1972 to 1973, and graduated with the sub-lieutenant rank. After graduation, he joined the Royal Jordanian Engineering Corps and participated in the mine clearance operation on the Jordan–Syria border. He moved to Yemen in the period between 1977 and 1979, where he participated with the Republic of Yemen Armed Forces with engineering officer rank in the fortifications of Bab-el-Mandeb, and the construction of Khaled Camp in Taiz. In 1979, he joined Yarmouk University, where he studied business administration.[5]

He joined the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College (RJCSC) for a year, then the General Command sent him to Pakistan to participate in an international course at the Pakistan Command and Staff College. After his return, he worked as a lecturer at RJCSC for 4 years, after which he assumed the position of Director of the Royal Jordanian Engineering Corps, until he finally became Commander of the Jordanian Command and Staff College with the Major General rank, and then he was referred to retirement.[5] He then joined the University of Jordan, where he obtained a doctorate in philosophy of education, and the title of his thesis was “The Role of Public Universities in Promoting the Concept of National Security”.[6]
