Construction and career

Tromblon was ordered on 12 May 1902 and was laid down at the Arsenal de Rochefort on 21 March 1904. The ship was launched on 17 June 1905[1] and was placed in reserve after her completion in April 1907. She was assigned to the Northern Squadron in January 1908 and remained with the unit as it was successively redesigned as the Third Squadron (Шаблон:Lang) in March 1908 and 2nd Light Squadron (Шаблон:Lang) in November 1912.[2] When the First World War began in August 1914, Tromblon was assigned to the 1st Destroyer Flotilla (Шаблон:Lang)[3] based at Cherbourg. The ship was assigned to the North Sea Squadron (Шаблон:Lang), based at Dunkerque, in 1916 and became the flagship of the Commander of the Brittany Divisions (Шаблон:Lang) in 1918. Tromblon was struck from the Navy Directory on 14 May 1921 and sold for scrap at Brest on 12 August.[2]
