Biography

Injia graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Communications in 1969 and was given an academic title of Doctor of Philosophy in 1980.Шаблон:Citation needed He is an author of more than 50 scientific papers and 12 inventions. Шаблон:Citation needed

From 1992 to 1998 he served as the Minister of Communications of Georgia. From 1998 to 2000 he was a director and a chairman of the supervisory board of "Egrisi" company. At the same time he was a professor at the Georgian Technical University.

From 2000 to 2004 he served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia from the Georgian Labour Party and worked at various committees in the Parliament. He then served as the chairman of the supervisory board of companies "New Communications" and "Foptnet". From 2006 he served as the President of the football club Merani.[1]

From 2017 to 2020 he served as a deputy of the Tbilisi Sakrebulo.[1] On 5 January 2021, he became a member of Parliament of Georgia from the Alliance of Patriots, but as the party boycotted the Parliament, he left it and joined the newly established European Socialists party.[2] In May 2023, he proposed to ban "LGBT propaganda" in Georgia.[3] He holds centre-left views on economic issues and right-wing views of cultural issues.
