Gabriela Monserrath Malave Vaca (born 8 March 2001) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper USFQ Dragonas Fútbol Club of the San Francisco of Quito University and the Ecuador national team.

Club career

As a young player, Malave worked as a goalkeeper in futsal teams in her home canton eventually making a move to playing soccer.

She started playing at the ESPE soccer school, in the U-8 category and was also played for four years with her parish's junior club. She also played in various neighborhood clubs in Salcedo.

Higher level play

Malave was national runner-up in the neighborhood sports games in Sucumbíos Province with the champion team of Salcedo Canton and Cotopaxi Province province. On vacation in the United States, she played in a tournament sponsored by Univision.

Later, she attended the "El Nacional" school, then played for the Leo José club and went on to the Salcedo Cantonal League and Club Huracán. Her talent developed and she was called to Pujilí, where she received the necessary support to join the Universidad San Francisco de Quito team.

She was called up to the Pujilí Canton municipal GADШаблон:Expand acronym team to play in a championship organized by the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where coaches Ernesto Wladimir López Paredes and Ana Carolina Lara invited her to be part of the university team.

Her desire led her to participate in the Under-20 national pre-selection process, and play in the Pan American Games in São Paulo for the Ecuadorian women's national soccer team. At 14 years old, she called up for the South American Women's Soccer Championship by Under-17 by coach Vanessa Arauz to the Ecuadorian national team in the goalkeeper position.
