History

Gadi Buru tower was built in 1990 to celebrate the Maldives' 25th Independence Day and has been rebuilt and reopened 18 November 2023. The new Tower was built just like the old one, the towers up clock was Gifted by Sri Lanka On 1990 To the Maldives. It was renovated Many times until 2017.It was abolished and destroyed on 2 July 2017. The re-opened Clock tower (gadi Buru) has roman numeral, numbers on it. It was Re-opened by president Mohamed Muizzu who is the current President of the Maldives.[2]
