History

Copyrighted in 1975 and dedicated on February 16, 1993, the sculpture measures approximately 46 x 32 x 27 inches, with a granite base measuring approximately 68 x 42 1/2 x 33 inches.[1]

In April of 2020, GW Police found the 23rd and F streets bust toppled and located at the base of its stand.[2] This followed a national string of protests and vandalism of historical monuments.[3]
