HMS H51 was a British H class submarine built by HM Dockyard, Pembroke Dock. She was laid down on an unknown date, launched on 15 November 1918[1] and commissioned into the British Royal Navy on 1 September 1919. It had a complement of twenty-two crew members.

HMS H51 was sold for scrapping on 6 June 1924 and was then resold on 17 July 1924 to the ship breakers.

Design

Like all post-H20 British H-class submarines, H51 had a displacement of Шаблон:Convert at the surface and Шаблон:Convert while submerged.[2] It had a total length of Шаблон:Convert,[3] a beam of Шаблон:Convert, and a draught of Шаблон:Convert.[4] It contained a diesel engines providing a total power of Шаблон:Convert and two electric motors each providing Шаблон:Convert power.[4] The use of its electric motors made the submarine travel at Шаблон:Convert. It would normally carry Шаблон:Convert of fuel and had a maximum capacity of Шаблон:Convert.[5]

The submarine had a maximum surface speed of Шаблон:Convert and a submerged speed of Шаблон:Convert. Post-H20 British H-class submarines had ranges of Шаблон:Convert at speeds of Шаблон:Convert when surfaced.[2][4] H51 was fitted with an anti-aircraft gun and four Шаблон:Convert torpedo tubes. Its torpedo tubes were fitted to the bows and the submarine was loaded with eight Шаблон:Convert torpedoes.[2] It is a Holland 602 type submarine but was designed to meet Royal Navy specifications. Its complement was twenty-two crew members.[2]
