The village subsequently became part of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh as part of its Kashatagh Province, where it was known as Vazgenashen (Шаблон:Lang-hy). It was returned to Azerbaijan as part of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement.
