Hakob or Hagop (Шаблон:Lang-hy; Eastern Armenian pronunciation: Шаблон:IPA, Western Armenian pronunciation: Шаблон:IPA) is a common Armenian first name derived from Greek Ἰακώβ, Iakṓb, equivalent to English Jacob.[1] A common diminutive form is Hakobik (Шаблон:Lang or Шаблон:Lang).[1] The common Armenian surname Hakobyan/Hagopian (Шаблон:Lang or Шаблон:Lang) is derived from this name.[1]
