Hania Aamir (born 12 February 1997)[1] is a Pakistani actress who appears in Urdu television and films. She began her acting career with the comedy film Janaan (2016) for which she fetched a nomination at Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress.[2] Aamir made her television debut with Titli (2017) playing a beauty-obsessed unfaithful wife and later appeared in Visaal (2018) but these failed to took her career forward.[3]
Aamir gained fame with the comedy drama Na Maloom Afraad 2 (2017) and the aerial combat-war Parwaaz Hai Junoon (2018), both of which rank among one of highest-grossing films and drew praise for her portrayal in the 2019 romantic Anaa.[4][5] She received wider popularity with the melodrama Mere Humsafar (2022), for which she received a Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress nomination. She has since appeared in the romantic drama Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha (2022–23).[6]
Early life and family
Aamir was born on 12 February 1997 in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan to a Punjabi father from Murree and a Hindkowan mother.[7]Шаблон:Better source needed
She was rumoured to be in a relationship with singer Asim Azhar,[8] but denied it in a live session with Aima Baig in 2020.[9][10]
Career
Early work (2015–2018)
Aamir was studying at the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST-NUCES), when she auditioned for the romantic comedy Janaan (2016), a film produced by the debutante filmmaker Imran Kazmi. Upon release, the film received positive reviews and was a commercial success. Her role as a mischievous Pashtun girl was appreciated and received her a nomination for the Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress.[11][12][13]
Aamir subsequently starred as a beauty-obsessed unfaithful wife in the 2017 romantic drama Titli. The series was a modern adaptation of the novel Beauty and the Beast and aired on Urdu 1. The success of the series proved a breakthrough for her, earning her wide public recognition. Her performance in the Hum TV's romantic drama Phir Wohi Mohabbat (2017), earned her the Best Television Sensation Female at the Hum Awards. That same year, Aamir played a headstrong bride-to-be in the year's highest-grossing release, the heist comedy Na Maloom Afraad 2. The film is a sequel to the 2014 romantic comedy film Na Maloom Afraad. The following year, Aamir featured in the Haseeb Hassan-directed Parwaaz Hai Junoon, an ensemble aerial combat-war drama alongside Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir and Kubra Khan. As with her previous release, it emerged as a major critical and commercial success and both the films rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films. Aamir's next portrayal was of a girl next door in the ARY Digital's melodrama Visaal (2018), opposite Zahid Ahmed and Saboor Aly.[14][3][15]
Rise to prominence (2019–present)
Aamir played the free-spirited heiress of Shergarh in Anaa (2019) opposite Shehzad Sheikh. She also sang the title track of the series along with Sahir Ali Bagga, which has garnered 8 million views on YouTube. She received positive reviews for her work.[16][17][18][19]
In 2020, Aamir played a carefree and outgoing girl Rumaisa Siddique, in Ishqiya opposite Feroze Khan. She received a nomination for Best Actress TV at the 2nd Pakistan International Screen Awards.[20][21] The same year she starred as a flirty TikToker girl, Sanam Jameel in Dil Ruba.[22]
In 2022, Aamir portrayed Hala Hamza Ahmed in Mere Humsafar opposite Farhan Saeed.[23] She received praises for the drama, that was a major success in the Indian subcontinent.[24] She received Lux Style Awards Best TV Actress and Best TV Actress - Critics' Choice nominations.[25] That year, she also played Gul Meena opposite Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz in Sang-e-Mah. The serial received praise from critics due to its script but was criticised for its stereotypical portrayal of Pakhtoons.[26]
From 2022 to 2023, Aamir portrayed Maheer Saad Hussain opposite Wahaj Ali, in the romantic drama Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha.[27] Her performance received mixed to negative reviews, but the series was successful.[28]
Other work and media image
Aamir has been featured in Hello Pakistan's HOT100 list in the "Headliners" category.[29] She walked the ramp for Zainab Chottani at the "Pakistan Fashion Week" in 2019.[30] She has also done various photoshoots for "Eid Collections" and for designers like Asim Jofa.[31][32] Aamir is a brand ambassador for several brands like Maybelline New York and Sprite.[33] In 2022, Aamir was named the brand ambassador for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.[34]
