Шаблон:Notability Hanna Jonasson is an editor and doctoral candidate in international law.

She is best known for her work as a member of the Julian Assange and WikiLeaks legal teams. Her tweets have been cited by news articles about people associated with WikiLeaks,[1][2][3] including Jacob Appelbaum[4] and Chelsea Manning.[5]

Career

In 2016, Jonasson posted a copy of a letter from Jill Bähring defending Jacob Appelbaum against an allegation of sexual misconduct.[4]

In 2019, Jonasson said that they believed that the grand jury was focused on the 2010 leaks that involved Manning.[5] Later that year, she denied allegations that Paul Manafort had met with Julian Assange when he was in the embassy.[6]

Embassy cat

Michi, also known as Embassy Cat, was the pet cat of Julian Assange from May 2016 until November 2018, when he reportedly gave away the cat, or April 2019, when he was evicted from the Ecuadorian embassy.[7][8] Journalist James Ball said that he offered to adopt the cat, but said that it was "reportedly given to a shelter by the Ecuadorian embassy ages ago". Hanna Jonasson, a member of Assange's legal team, disputes this, saying that the cat is with Assange's family because the embassy had allegedly threatened the cat[9] and "they will be reunited in freedom", while the embassy said "it was taken by Mr. Assange's associates", adding "we are not a pet store, we do not keep pets here."[3][8][10]
