The Hanover Schützenfest (Шаблон:Lang-de) in Hanover, Germany is the largest marksmen's festival in the world.Шаблон:R The festival was founded in 1529 and takes place once a year. It is commercially organized and includes a large entertainment program. The Schützenfest consists of around 5,000 marksmen, 250 rides and Шаблон:Clarify and five large beer tents.
The Marksmen's Parade is the highlight of the festival—Шаблон:Convert long with more than 10,000 participants from Germany and all around the world, around 5,000 are marksmen, more than 100 bands, and more than 60 wagons, carriages and floats. It is the longest parade in Europe, and probably the world. More than one and a half million people visit the festival every year. The landmark of the festival is the Шаблон:Convert tall Steiger Ferris wheel, which can carry 420 people in its 42 passenger cabins.
