Hausen am Albis has an area of Шаблон:Convert. Of this area, 58% is used for agricultural purposes, while 29% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 10.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (2.3%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).[2]
The municipality is located on the southern side of the Albis pass. It includes sections of the village known as Heisch and Ebertswil as well as hamlets and individual houses. Until 1911 it was known simply as Hausen.
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 39.3% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the SPS (18.3%), the Green Party (12.9%) and the FDP (11.7%).

The entire Swiss population is generally well educated. In Hausen am Albis about 84.8% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).
