It was released in April 1974 as the first single and title track from his album I'm Not Through Loving Yet. The song peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.[1] It also reached number 1 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in Canada.[2] The song was written by Twitty and L. E. White.
A 1980 cover by Pam Rose also made the country charts, reaching No. 60 that year.[3]
