I Can See Your Voice is a Philippine television mystery music game show series locally produced and distributed by ABS-CBN Studios, based on the South Korean program of the same name. Since the show's premiere on September 16, 2017, it has aired five seasons on four different networks — ABS-CBN (from 2017 to 2020); Kapamilya Channel, A2Z (since 2020); and TV5 (since 2023).

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel (also known as SING-vestigators) over the course of several rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.Шаблон:Efn

Rewards

At the end of each round, the eliminated mystery singer gets a consolation prize starting with Шаблон:Philippine peso for the first round, Шаблон:Philippine peso for the second round, and Шаблон:Philippine peso for the third round. If singer is good, the guest artist wins an award (as Eyeward) and he/she will compete at Tawag ng Tanghalan. The winning singer, regardless of being good (SEE-nger) or bad (SEE-ntunado), wins Шаблон:Philippine peso.

Rounds

Each episode presents the guest artist with five people whose identities and singing voices are kept concealed until they are eliminated to perform on the "stage of truth" or remain in the end to perform the final duet.

• Stop, Looks, and Listen

The guest artist is given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. Afterward, a muted video of each mystery singer reveals only 3 seconds of their singing voice as an additional hint.Шаблон:Efn

Lip sync rounds

• The Voice is Syncing

Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.Шаблон:EfnШаблон:Efn

• Sync Zoned

Each mystery singer performs a lip sync from a non-lyrical piece of a song (i.e. screams, whistles, interjections, etc.).Шаблон:Efn

Evidence rounds

• I Like to Prove It! Prove It!

A proof of each mystery singer's singing ability (i.e. photo, video, certificates, etc.) is shown on the screen. Good singers have own evidences, while bad singers have their evidences fabricated.Шаблон:Efn

• Clues Open

For the fourth season:

• A Whole New Word — The panelist is given a statement with an assigned "keyword" to one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice. Good singers have true statements, while bad singers have their statements fabricated.
• Bed of Boses — Similar to a muted video segment of Stop, Looks, and Listen, a video recording from a studio session by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice reveals only 3 seconds of their singing voice as an additional hint.
• Message Parlor — The guest artist is presented with a video package featuring a "super fan" of one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice.
• Song Ka Pa — The host reveals a playlist of three "mystery songs" that are appropriated to one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice.
• Tabi-tabi Po — The guest artist asks a question to one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice that can answer with nonverbal communication.

For the fifth season:

• Ano Box? — Inside a semi-concealed container, the panelist must release an evidential piece by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice, except music-related items (i.e. ballpen, hairbrush, flashlight, etc.).
• Good Night Silip — The guest artist is presented with a preshow rehearsal video by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice.
• Hula Bira and Shape, Rattle, and Roll — The panelist has to make its own premonition by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice. Good singers have true statements, while bad singers have their statements fabricated.
• Lights, Camera, Reaction — The guest artist is presented with a video package including witnesses by one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice react when they hear on its own performance that would appear on the show.
• Stop, Spluk, and Listen — The guest artist must interrogate to one of the remaining mystery singers of their choice by audio message, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.

Rehearsal round

• Play it by Hear

Three random panelists are wearing headphones to listen to a recording of assigned mystery singer that lasts for 15 seconds. Afterward, the panelist defends the mystery singer and convince the guest artist to choose them as the winner.Шаблон:EfnШаблон:EfnШаблон:Efn

Background

Production and development

In collaboration with Endemol Shine Group, ABS-CBN formally announced its development of the show in August 2017. It is produced by ABS-CBN Studios; the staff team is managed by executive producers Rose Casala, Laurenti Dyogi, Marvi Gelito, Carlo Katigbak, Cory Vidanes and Luis Andrada.

Filming

Tapings for the program took place at the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center in Brgy. South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City.

In the third and fourth seasons, the program was filmed under health and safety protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in prematurely ending the second season when its production halted from March 2020, followed by the second indefinite shutdown.

Broadcast history

I Can See Your Voice debuted on September 16, 2017. The second season premiered on August 10, 2019 and was prematurely ended on March 14, 2020. The third season premiered on October 24, 2020, coinciding the debut broadcast of TV5's rival show Masked Singer Pilipinas. The fourth season has an initial premiere on January 8, 2022 and was then happened on January 15, 2022, with the airing of 1MX Manila 2021 that occupied its original premiere week. The fifth season premiered on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z on March 4, 2023, followed by TV5 on March 11, 2023.Шаблон:Efn

The show was originally aired on ABS-CBN for two seasons. For the second time in ICSYV franchise as Mnet and tvN simulcasts the original South Korean counterpart, both interim broadcasters Kapamilya Channel and A2Z conducted the same manner (since the third season), followed by TV5 (for the fifth season).Шаблон:Efn Outside of the Philippines, it is also aired on TFC through international transmissions. Special episodes and companion events

As part of the series' first anniversary, a prelude special (subtitled Best Mode) was aired on September 9, 2018, followed by Daniel Padilla playing on entire Kalokalike alumni as mystery singers on September 15, 2018. It also aired the first episodes featuring an entire lineup of celebrities (with TNT Boys), pairs (with Marcelito Pomoy), groups (with Шаблон:Ill and KZ Tandingan), elderly (with Doris Bigornia), and foreigners (with Ethel Booba) as mystery singers.

Since the fourth season, it held a companion event titled I Can Guess Your Voice, an in-game event whose viewers (acting as Home SING-vestigators) use social media to correctly guess the outcome of winning mystery singer, either it was good or bad by means of a duet with one of the guest artists.

Cast

The series has a panel of celebrities who assist the guest artist(s) to decipher mystery singers' identities throughout the game. Alongside with mainstays, guest panelists also appear since the first season. Overall, 13 different members have been assigned, with the original lineup being Wacky Kiray, Kean Cipriano, Alex Gonzaga, Andrew E., and Angeline Quinto.

Beside them, subsequent members joining on that lineup also include Bayani Agbayani (from first season); KaladKaren (from second season); Long Mejia, Negi, Nikko Natividad, Jona Viray (from third season); Шаблон:Ill, and Шаблон:Ill (from fourth season).
