I Can See Your Voice Malaysia (Шаблон:Zh) is a Malaysian television mystery music game show series catering in Chinese language, based on the South Korean programme of the same name. Since the show's premiere on 20 August 2017, it has aired two seasons on 8TV.

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of several rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.Шаблон:Efn

Visual rounds

• The guest artist is given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. Afterward, a muted video of each mystery singer that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice is played as an additional hint.Шаблон:Efn

• Each mystery singer is given two different identities — as a good singer and as a bad singer. Only one of them is a real identity.Шаблон:Efn

Lip sync rounds

• Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.Шаблон:Efn

• The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.Шаблон:Efn

Evidence rounds

• A proof of each mystery singer's singing ability (i.e. photo, video, certificates, etc.) is shown on the screen. Good singers have own evidences, while bad singers had their evidences fabricated.Шаблон:Efn

• Three random panelists are wearing headphones to listen to a recording of assigned mystery singer that lasts for 15 seconds. Afterward, the panelist defends the mystery singer and convince the guest artist to choose them as the winner.Шаблон:Efn

Background

Production and development

Media Prima Berhad formally announced the development of separate, multilingual Malaysian adaptations of I Can See Your Voice, with TV8 assigning the Mandarin-language variant in April 2017, and NTV7 for the Malay-language variant in June 2018. It is produced by Primeworks Studios.

Naming

The Mandarin translation of I Can See Your Voice (Шаблон:Zh) is adapted to the (Chinese-language variant of) Malaysian counterpart that also comes from a title of the Chinese counterpart itself. The I Can See Your Voice Malaysia subtitle is later used as its own title of the Malay-language variant.

Broadcast history

I Can See Your Voice Malaysia in the Chinese-language variant debuted on 20 August 2017. After the first season finale, the series has been already renewed for a second season that premiered on 19 August 2018, one day before the show's first anniversary.

Special episodes

After the second season finale, an encore concert (subtitled Christmas Showcase) featuring some of mystery singers and guest artists returning to perform one last time, was held in 2018; followed by the duo of Шаблон:Ill and Stella Chung playing in the Chinese New Year special that concluded on 5 February 2019.

Cast

The series has a panel of celebrities who assist the guest artist(s) to decipher mystery singers' identities throughout the game. Alongside with mainstays, guest panelists also appear since the first season. Overall, 4 different members have been assigned, with the original lineup being Шаблон:Ill and Шаблон:Ill.

Beside them, subsequent members joining on that lineup also include Шаблон:Ill and Gary Yap (from second season).
