This Sosiety was established in October 2006 as a result of the coalition of several non-governmental federations and civil sports institutions of Iran under the leadership of Ali Haghshenas.

One of the most important goals of this association from the beginning until now has been to support and defend the rights of civil sports institutions against the attacks of Iran's state sports system.

Activity in all sports fields and providing technical and legal facilities to the whole Iranian sports community, especially non-governmental and non-profit sports organizations and federations, is one of the main goals of the Iran Sport Non-governmental organizations Society.

Since the beginning of its establishment, this society has defended the non-governmental-non-profit federations legally and executively and criticized the Iranian government in various cases.

The challenge with the Iranian government

Among these challenges, the following can be mentioned:

1- The request for the dissolution of Iran's Physical Education Organization and the establishment of the Ministry of Sports in 2008

2- a critical letter to the head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting

3- strong disagreements with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government in sport

4- the plan to expel non-specialists and multi-taskers from the state system of sports

5- The official request for the resignation of the Minister of Sports in 2014 due to the immigration of Iranian athletes

6- A letter to the Minister of Sports and criticism of her performance in the use of martial arts in suppressing people in the Mahsa Amini protests, (October 2022)

7- Publication of administrative, moral and financial corruption documents of government sports officials
