Ismailpur Block is block within the Bhagalpur District of Bihar, India. The pin code for Ismailpur is 853205, and the postal head office is S.T. Goriar.It comes under Naugachhia subdivision[1]It is a part of Anga region of Bihar.[2]

Location

Ismailpur Block is situated approximately 17 kilometers east of the district headquarters, Bhagalpur.It is situated in the eastern part of the state and plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the region. Ismailpur Block is located at approximately 25°18'44.4"N 87°07'27.5"E in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar, India. It is bordered by Gopalpur , Naugachhia and Bihpur blocks by three sides and Ganga to the south . The block covers a certain geographical area comprising several villages and hamlets, and it is characterized by agricultural land, rivers, and rural settlements.[3]

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census, Ismailpur Block has a total population of 43,440 people. Among them, 23,285 are males, and 20,155 are females. The average sex ratio in Ismailpur Block is 866.

Ismailpur is Bihar’s first ODF Plus Model block.Comprised by five panchayats consisting eight revenue villages, Ismailpur has become totally ODF block with every household of the block having access to functional toilet facility. By respective panchayats, all villages of the block have been declared ODF plus.[4]
