Acanalonia Шаблон:Ref-la — род равнокрылых цикадовых насекомых из семейства Acanaloniidae (Fulgoroidea, Homoptera). Новый Свет. Около 70 видов[1].

Распространение

Северная Америка (Канада, США), Центральная и Южная Америка. Единственный североамериканский представитель подсемейства Acanaloniinae. 19 видов встречаются к северу от Мексики, остальные южнее. 1 вид завезён в Италию[1][2].

Описание

Среднего и мелкого размера цикадки (длина около 1 см). Форма тела компактная, голова короткая и широкая. Ноги короткие и крепкие. Усики короткие, оцеллии мелкие[1][3]. Фотография «зубчатых колёс» задних ног Acanalonia conica, сделанная с помощью конфокальной микроскопии, стала одним из победителей последнего 11-го ежегодного конкурса научных фотографий «Olympus BioScapes 2014 (International Digital Imaging Competition)»[4].

Систематика

Около 70 видов. Род был впервые выделен в 1839 году итальянским энтомологом Максимилианом Спинолой (Spinola, 1780—1857). Включается в состав семейства Acanaloniidae (Fulgoroidea)[1][5][6].
